Author’s Story — Garrett Monroe

I’m not a lawyer. I’m a dad — with two kids who count on me.

A few years ago, I watched my family go through something we never should have faced. When my father passed, I thought everything was taken care of. It wasn’t.

Parts of his estate got tied up in probate court. What followed were months of delays, legal fees, and family tension. The things my dad wanted to leave us didn’t come the way he intended.

That experience lit a fire in me. I needed to understand why this happens to ordinary families — and how the wealthy seem to avoid it entirely.

It turns out, it’s not luck or expensive lawyers. It’s a Living Trust. And it’s a lot simpler than most people think.

I spent months studying how it all works — reading, asking questions, learning from others who’d done it right. Eventually, I built one for my own family.

This guide is what I wish I’d had back then. It’s written for regular people — not attorneys or financial advisors — just parents, spouses, and individuals who want to protect what they’ve built and make sure their loved ones don’t go through unnecessary pain.

You don’t need to be wealthy to take control. You just need the right knowledge — and the willingness to act on it.
